“Therefore, my beloved, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, because you know that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

1 Corinthians 15:58

Find the treasure

We tend to think that to become faithful Christians or to be better perceived by the Lord we must do great deeds. We think we have to show great value in situations that terrify us or achieve goals that only super heroes could achieve. To be the most obedient we can we end up forcing actions that are not honest, nor come from our hearts. Wanting to show ourselves as perfect before the eyes of others will only make us false beings, who live on a lie to achieve something that nobody has imposed on them.

Setting the standard for what is expected of us as devotees is not always easy when there is some misinformation. When we are told that we have to follow an example, it does not mean that mistakes in that path are not contemplated. The truth is that the real treasure is in living the word of God and not underestimating false hopes.

Be supportive in daily things, faithful to Our Lord and kind to our brethren. Be compassionate to your own mistakes and those of others, and be prepared to give without expecting anything in return. Ideals do not exist, they will only bring us frustration when we can, with small actions and living in the grace of God, always be close to Him.
