“And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to help you to determine what is best, so that in the day of Christ you may be pure and blameless”

Philippians 1:9-10

Knowing ourselves in Christ

When we are young we may make mistakes as Christians and that is just because we still do not know our full potential. We are barely taking our first steps as adults, making mistakes and trying it over again. Our faith is often relegated to the background and sometimes we do not devote much of our time to communicating with God. We believe that we know everything, that nothing nor nobody can match our goals, but many times we fail because we are not alongside our Father when we make choices.

That's part of growth, to recognize ourselves in God's name, but we must be willing to surrender completely to Him. Trusting His advice and open our hearts to the Lord in order to let Him guide us with His divine advice, with His temperance, and with His patience. Being reckless young people, living day to day without thinking about any consequences will not turn us into irrational or carefree adults and that may also lead us to become selfish. When we listen, fully meditating on what God has to tell us, the lessons that He wants to share with us, every lesson will be easier to get through. In harmony with what our Father shows us at every step, trusting in His wisdom and love, we will be able to brave any storm.
