Your Power of Self-Determination

There is always a particular moment in life when we think or feel that it is too late to make changes. We must learn to be courageous and rely on the following article to discover our power of self-determination.

“Do not be like your ancestors, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.’ But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the Lord.” Zechariah 1:4

For various reasons in life, we allow ourselves to be influenced by certain situations or events that surround us. Obviously, this type of situation will allow us to reflect and meditate on what is happening to us and how the Lord accompanies us with these "trials" along the way.
It is also interesting to consider something that is necessary: not to burden ourselves with these problems. There is always a solution that makes life a little easier.
Dragging problems along without even thinking of a possible solution is like carrying stones in a sack during a walk, only to realize that at the end of the day we have been carrying a weight that is absolutely unnecessary.

“But Naaman went away angry and said, “I thought that he would surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, wave his hand over the spot and cure me of my leprosy. 12 Are not Abana and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be cleansed?” So he turned and went off in a rage.” 2 Kings 5:11-12

Let us remember then that sometimes we may feel that we are no longer in time to make certain changes in our lives. It is that feeling that we have made mistakes, that we have failed and that we wish we could turn back time to repair them, so that they would never have affected us.

In these circumstances it certainly becomes complicated for us to understand why such difficulties occur to us that cloud our horizon and prevent us from seeing a better future.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners” Isaiah 61:1

It seems late to start again and we feel that we have already lost the opportunities to make our desires come true.

We must move away today from that anguish, from that anxiety that brings us down, because there is always time to undertake the journey that one day we should have delayed, if we trust that God is our guide and Faith is our path.

Thus we must lay the foundations of our hope, knowing that in spite of having given up in a moment, we have with us the confidence of the Lord.
He believes in us and for Him it is never too late when it comes to blessing us with a renewed spirit, new and ready to face with hope that future we once gave up. Therefore, let us ask the Lord to help us see beyond our past and present mistakes; to open our eyes and hearts to the possibilities that He will place in our future.
