Reinforce your confidence

Do we really know the power of walking with the Lord?

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Thesalonians 5:16-18

Prayer serves to give us clear and timely direction in times of crisis. We must not decide anything before praying, if we want to achieve good results, that is why it is important that our hearts be entrusted to God  so He may guide us. It is better to take the time to ask God for direction before making a decision than to make a bad decision and ask God to free us from its inevitable consequences.

“Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phillipians 4:6-7

At the same time it is important that we avoid making wrong decisions that could have serious repercussions in our lives. Through prayer, God shows us what we should do, how and when. Let us not forget that we are part of His perfect plan and that everything that happens to us is part of His divine will.

“But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.” Matthew 6:6

Therefore let us remember that prayer gives us confidence and brings us peace, eliminating our worries and concerns because they are a waste of time. Through prayer we can surrender our burdens to God and meditate on it. By doing this, a sense of security, calm, and tranquility overflows our thoughts, making us more productive.

“When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do; for they think that they will be heard because of their many words.” Matthew 6:7

Let us also keep in mind that the power of prayer helps us to act wisely and protects us from temptations. Prayer is the only manner of direct communication that we have with God, putting us in close relationship with Him and predisposing ourselves to listen to what our heart dictates us, which is nothing other than the Lord speaking through us. Praying daily, on the other hand, gives us the certainty that we will always find ourselves on the path of Faith, which at the same time distances us from temptations, or rather, gives us the strength to face them.

“You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name.” John 15:16

Daily prayer guides us to follow God's Holy will. Since we already know the fact that the Lord has a plan for each one of us and that it was designed in a perfect way following the will of the Most High, it is our duty as good children to live according to His will, following the precepts that He has left us in the Holy Scriptures.
