Valentine's Day: The Real Meaning

History shows us a meaning that over time seems to have been retransformed into a very different one. Learn the true meaning of Valentine's Day in the following article..

"Cush was the father of Nimrod, who became a mighty warrior on the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord; that is why it is said, “Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter before the Lord'." Genesis 10:8-9

Valentine comes from the Latin Valentinus, which is derived from valens - "to be strong, brave, great, mighty." A description of a man with these characteristics is found in the Bible and was so described in the Book of Genesis. We are in front of a character who defied God, founding and being the first lord of Babel as explained in Genesis as well.

But then why is Valentine's Day celebrated as a tradition about love and couples?

"Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the heavens, though the nations are terrified by them. For the practices of the peoples are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel." Jeremiah 10:2-3

What we have to think about on this date, is to celebrate the love, respect and courage necessary to join the way of the Holy Spirit.

Our Heavenly Father warns us about some characters that may appear in our lives. Of course also about certain customs or traditions that are not very aligned with our spiritual beliefs.

Our Heavenly Father will guide us whenever we come to help. There is no one else who can give us the emotional repair and comfort we need to continue on our path of enlightenment.

"Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." 1 John 4:8

We must remember to celebrate the love that exists between the Lord, Jesus and each one of his sons and daughters in this life.

The love we receive in every blessing and every opportunity we have to grow should be prayerfully acknowledged. Our relationships are unique with the Holy Spirit, and we must nurture them, directing our life destiny towards God.

If we dedicate the purpose of each day in learning to be better people, nourishing ourselves with Faith and recovering the hope that together with Heavenly Father everything will be better, then we will be celebrating the love within our hearts.

"Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace." Ephesians 4:3

We must understand that we do not need a celebration or special date to honor the Lord or the loved ones who accompany us in life.

Nor should we feel obligated to celebrate the love we feel for another through a ceremony or a gift.

Love is a powerful, transforming and unique feeling that will help us overcome any problem or negative transit we are experiencing.

Leaving aside the superficality of gifts and messages that we can find on television or social networks, we must not forget that the most important thing about acceptance is to love others in any way.

Rebuilding that "courage" that strengthens us with the Lord, will allow us to be "great" and "powerful" as Jesus taught us on the cross.
