Starting your day with a smile

Have you ever wondered why we feel that spontaneous reaction when we see anyone smile?

“Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.” James 1:23-25

I dare you to walk past a mirror and not look into it without smiling. It is almost impossible not to want to see yourself in a mirror and observe what it reflects. It is something that happens unconsciously and many times what we observe is not really what we want to see.

Conditioned by cultural and social factors, we often forget to see in the reflection of that mirror what is most significant. Our inner self. Moreover, in the reflection we see only ourselves, but what happens when we add other people to be included in that image?

“May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had.” Romans 15:5

What do you find in your reflection today: your family, your children, your university, and your work colleagues? What other loved ones are part of that image? Now, this mirror that I present to you has the ability to show you the interior of these people and of you. Do you really feel that in that interior is faith manifested? It is not a talent or a gift to be able to feel the grace of the Lord within our being.

All its light reflected in all those who accompany you in life is achieved and is something that is built. Just as the body is trained, Faith nourishes the heart and love. We must allow the Holy Spirit to enter our hearts and circulate its healing light. As our inner being is reflected, our Lord's intention is that we may live united, in communion with one another.

“I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” Revelation 3:8

We must serve God by acting and trusting that everything he has planned will make sense. We may not be able to understand His plan at the moment of acting, but He always leads us on the right path. He probably already has an important future in store for all of us at the gates of Heaven. Faith is deposited in every act that we think and perform.

He is present in us so that we can have enough confidence at the moment of waking up and carrying out our daily lives. If you have the feeling that his light has not reached you, if you do not feel the healing of Jesus, it means that you are not having enough faith in his miracle.

“Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name,

for in perfect faithfulness you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago.” Isaiah 25:1

The Holy Spirit works miracles in every corner of the world. He does not differentiate between ages or social classes. He amalgamates all the senses and with his presence allows us to extend the communion of Faith among brothers and sisters. It is not a matter of mystery or effort, our will is in charge of receiving the new challenges that God will put in our paths. We must renew our thoughts, our prayers and at the end of each day, we will be surprised by the results.
