Remain Strong in Your Change

It seems we forget, but we must always keep in mind what it means to help others. When we need help, we always go to God in prayer, incorporate these thoughts that will guide you in your day.

“For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants of one another.” Galatians 5:13

Happiness is found in giving. Try to remember the face of the last person you helped.

If you were able to then well done. If you were not able to then maybe it's been a long time since you helped someone and it's time for you to do it again. This is the only way you will see the true face of Jesus reflected in the happiness of the one you have helped.

“Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back.” Luke 6:38

You remain on God's path. This is how you will know that you are on the right path during those moments when you are invaded by doubt.

Having solidarity has many benefits that you can count on. Helping your neighbor allows your love for others to grow and generates empathy, which is an absolutely necessary virtue that will diminish your arrogance and selfishness: aspects you will want to free yourself from if you really want to be supportive.

“If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.” Isaiah 58:10

You farm the land so that the helped can help others. It is not anything new, only that the effectiveness in this case is found in actions, rather than in words.

Keep in mind that if we could put words to our acts of solidarity, they would say: do you see how easy it is to help others? I sincerely recommend that you do it too, because it brings incredible benefits. Do you want to try it, too?

“He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed.” Proverbs 19:17

You will contribute by being able to get help in the future if you need it. This is how you will see the way your actions contribute to making the world a better place.

It is important that we remember that we must not be supportive just because we may also need help sometime in the future, but because it is God's will and plan that we love our brothers, and helping them is the most effective way to show them our love.

“Give to him who begs from you, and do not refuse him who would borrow from you.” Matthew 5:42

Follow the example of the Lord, because He is the beginning and the end, the eternal example we must follow in every situation or circumstance. We can not fail in anything if we try to imitate God; He is the irrefutable proof that we are on the right path.

Remember how the Lord upheld His word with the most selfless acts of love and solidarity. You must also do this in order to imitate him. Go and confront the world by imitating the Lord.
