Next destination: Your goals. 5 tips that will help you to fulfill what you propose.

May neither frustration nor excessive desire tarnish your path to the Holy Spirit. Find the keys to achieve your goals here.

1) “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Proverbs 16:3

Make your goals visible. It is vitally important that you be clear about what you want, and what you want to achieve. That way it will be much easier to create a plan to follow along your way.

Make time to pray so that you can make your communication with God more fluid, so as to find God's counsel for you upon reviewing what your heart dictates.

2) “For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

Jeremiah 29:11

Draw out a plan for you to follow. Remember the importance of planning the steps you will follow, starting from scratch, taking great care not to demotivate yourself from the start, which is the most vulnerable part of your plan.

Imagine a germinating seed in your mind, one that you must give special care to during its first moments, until it becomes stronger.

3) “For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?” Luke 14:28

Be sure to include short-term goals. Do not forget that the completion of a goal brings us a certain sense of happiness that is good to experience.

In that way we will obtain more drive and initiative when we embark on our race towards the next goal, and therefore the path will become more bearable. Ideally, put the goals that are easier to reach at the beginning of your journey, and that will give you the confidence you need to face the most difficult goals.

4) “May he grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfil all your plans!” Psalms 20:4

Do not deviate from the path. Concentration in these cases is extremely important. Be responsible without being hard on yourself, you will not want to see yourself demoralized and become your own executioner. It's amazing how sometimes our minds deceive us and take us away from everything we want.

Instead, exercise by listening to your heart: nothing else is more connected to our desires and feelings, and furthermore, nothing is better connected to the Lord.

5) “A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9

Have confidence. Keep in mind that past the plan that you have drawn, there is another even larger one, and it is the plan that God has for us. Have confidence that God, like a good father, will always watch over us and not let bad things happen to us.

Remember that everything that represents a stumbling block on the road is a test that the Lord set for us to be able to work our weaknesses and strengthen our virtues. In moments of doubt, a good exercise is to ask yourself: What would Jesus do in my place?
