Life Lessons: Open your Eyes

Sometimes we are going through situations and moments that show us scenarios we have never experienced before. Are we clear that we may be in the presence of a life lesson?

 “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” Philippians 4:11

The circumstances and causes that surround us have a direct bearing on our personal satisfaction.

And it is natural that we can fully enjoy the goals we have reached and, therefore, feel happy with what we have achieved. It is wonderful to know that we are improving day by day in the Glory of the Lord and that we bring joy and tranquility, not only to our Spirit but also to our family and friends.

However, it can happen that in times of great harvests, behaviors arise within us that are not in accordance with what the Word of the Lord teaches. Harmful feelings of self-sufficiency, selfishness, and vanity can surreptitiously influence our conscience, destabilizing our perception of reality. That is why we must understand and accept that God is the true steward of all that is given to us.

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” Filipenses 4:12

It is very important to keep a clear mind and a fluid dialogue with the Lord in order to avoid putting our strengths and hopes in the wrong places.

Life is full of ups and downs and what seems unchangeable today can change from one moment to the next.

Abundance can generate false feelings of security. We think that nothing can happen to us, but when that structure gives way, we realize that the only lasting thing in our existence is the Mercy of the Highest.

If our present is auspicious, let us have a gift of gratitude for the blessings received and never forget to help our brothers.

Let us ask the Lord to guide us to live in gratitude and not to fall into selfishness and arrogance.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ”Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” Hebrews 13: 5

It is logical that financial pressures take away our Peace and Tranquility. They are difficult trials that we must face with Faith and Commitment to the Lord.

Logically, this type of worries, generates anguish, uncertainty, and sadness.

We can succumb to feelings of resentment and envy and that is why it is so necessary to take the time to communicate with God and change the focus of our perceptions in order to emerge stronger in His glory.

Let's change the "Why me?" to "Here I am to fulfill your purpose".

Let us remember that we can always rest in the certainty that the Lord protects us and provides us with the strength we need to move forward.


“I can do all this through him who gives me strength” Philippians 4:13

When we understand that life is a balance between good and bad moments, we can trust that our Heavenly Father has the Power to content us even in the most difficult periods and before the hardest trials that we must face.

When we surrender our life to Christ, we acquire the necessary Motivation and Strength to overcome all the obstacles that come our way.

In Him, we can do all things.
