Giving Focus to the Heart

You will recover at all times and in all places in the way of the Lord. Connect with the following verses to deepen your connection with Jesus.

"If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone." Romans 12:18

On many occasions, we will find ourselves making decisions without a clear map. We may get lost in the streets of a new place we have moved to or in a country we have just arrived in. We will do so simply for the pleasure of exploring and getting to know that new environment better. However, one day I realized that faith is the map of our lives.

We can move forward in our development without depending on its guidance. We can get lost and enjoy the experience. But if we really want to reach our destination, that place we call "home," or if we want to have a deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit, we have no choice but to walk the path traced by the map of faith.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

We often hear the phrase, "I don't want to fall into a rut or a routine." However, not all routines are tedious or drudgery. Think, for example, of the routine of eating breakfast with our children or the routine of going for a walk with our loved ones. In the same way, let us consider the routine of approaching our Lord through prayer.

Prayer, whether in the morning, at night or whenever we need it, allows us to establish a direct connection with our Father. By guarding our eyes from straying into temptation and filling our hearts with peace, He will guide us through the stormy paths of the difficulties and encouragements we encounter in our daily lives.

"And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit." 2 Corinthians 3:18

To follow the path of light to Jesus, we must demonstrate a spiritual, mental and emotional openness to the will, character and power of God. If we dare to discover Him and dive into the depths of our heart to love Him and obey His call, we will find a haven of relief and trust next to our Lord.

Like children who see the sea for the first time, their reactions and the expression of wonder in their eyes teach us that this first encounter will remain engraved in their minds forever. The same is true when we place our faith in the Lord.

"Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it." Isaiah 30:20-21

Seek to surround yourself with people who nourish your heart, your thoughts and your soul. Trust in yourself, in your steps and in the decisions you make. The attraction of good energies will depend on your faith and how you connect with your spirituality and your inner needs.

Learn to trust in the Lord, for his gaze will always be guiding our path. Let us entrust ourselves to his guidance and allow him to be our compass in this journey of life.

Acting by example, trying to carry out this exercise of helping those in need on a regular basis, will allow us to approach the destiny of Faith with ease. We must be balancing our decisions, our thoughts and emotions towards a divine destiny of peace and love.
