Feeding our Hearts in Solidarity

In order to continue on its path, it is key to be able to feed our hearts. Learn in the following article how to be in solidarity with those who need it.

"Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Matthew 11:29

We live in a wonderful world that, unfortunately, is very unfair and unequal.

One of the main causes of this worrying situation is due to the existence of people who do not understand what it means to have enough. From the mass media, we see how the false idea is reproduced in a compulsive way that the more we accumulate, the more material and superfluous things we have, the closer we get to happiness. This feeling that we always lack something to be happy generates in our hearts feelings of frustration, anxiety, and anguish.

We must be careful not to fall into these kinds of traps and for that, there is nothing more beautiful than to understand that our true wealth is to be children of God and walk together with Him towards Salvation.

Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” Luke 12:15

The vast majority of people like to acquire some material good or other, and there is nothing wrong with this. The real problems begin when we become so obsessed with the accumulation, sometimes unnecessary, of things that we cannot be at peace with ourselves.

When material possessions "take over" our lives, we lose focus on what is essential and generate feelings of frustration, resentment, and selfishness within ourselves.

These are harmful behaviors that alter our social environment and, mainly, our relationship with the Lord.

We run the risk of thinking that the acquisition of material goods is our highest priority, tempting us, in turn, to spend the rest of our days only thinking about how to take care of those goods and how to multiply them.

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:18

It happens to many that when they find a supposed "security" in wealth, they begin to place their faith in money, moving away from faith in God.

We must understand that the problem is not money but the excessive love of money. Material things are ephemeral and therefore disposable.

Something will always appear that will attract our attention more than what we already possess, something more novel or modern that will take away our Peace of Spirit. Something that will present itself as "indispensable" for our existence and that will give us no rest until it is achieved. How many times have we run after some material object that, once acquired, has left us with a feeling of emptiness and dissatisfaction?

It is necessary to interpret the world in a wiser way, sustained by the Word of the Lord. Let us not follow fashions and trends. Let us seek the Eternal and Real. Let us seek the Mercy of Christ with Humility and Repentance. He is there waiting for us.

“How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!”. Proverbs 16:16

The Lord gives much importance to what happens in your heart and what we keep in it, for it is there that He resides. His Sacred Word teaches us, repeatedly, that there is more than enough for everyone in this world and that it is always more beautiful and healing to offer and give unselfishly than to hoard, keep and accumulate.

Let us take a moment to think of all the Blessings that the Highest has showered upon us. Let us think of the transcendental transformation we experience when we make the decision to walk with Christ in the ways of God the Father. Therein lies our true wealth. That which nests in our Souls and illuminates our existence and that of others.

“All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.” Acts 4:32

Let us keep our disposition to help those who need it most active and healthy. When we share the gifts we have received with our fallen brothers and sisters in misfortune, we are glorifying our Heavenly Father and we find fulfillment in the purposes He has designed for our lives.

Let us be sacred instruments responding to the call of the Almighty.
