"In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps." Proverbs 16:9

In the quest to reach our goals and get closer to the Holy Spirit, it is important to keep in mind some keys that can help us on our way. First of all, it is essential that we visualize our goals clearly, that we have in mind what we want to achieve in order to draw a plan to follow.

Prayer is a powerful tool that helps us connect with God and listen to His voice in our hearts. Making a space in our day for prayer will allow us to strengthen our communication with God and to obtain His advice in times of need.

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." Isaiah 41:10

Once we are clear about our goals, it is important that we map out a plan to follow. This plan should include short-term goals that will allow us to progressively move towards our ultimate goal.

It is important to remember that the road is not always easy and that in the moments of greatest vulnerability we must take special care of our motivation.

The image of a germinating seed can be very useful to visualize the growth process we are experiencing. Just as a seed needs special care during its early stages, we must also pay special attention to our first steps on the road to our goal.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

We must not lose sight of the fact that the achievement of goals brings us a sense of happiness that is important to experience. That's why including short-term goals in our plan is an excellent way to stay motivated and get the necessary push to keep moving forward.

In times of doubt, it is important to listen to our heart and not let our mind deceive us or lead us away from what we really want. Let us remember that our heart is connected to our desires and feelings, and that it is through our heart that we can connect with God.

"May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed." Psalm 20:4

Keeping in mind that God has a plan for each of us, it is important to trust that He will watch over us and not allow bad things to happen to us. In difficult times, it is important to remember that every obstacle we face is a test that God puts us through to work out our weaknesses and strengthen our virtues.

Finally, let us remember that Jesus is our role model and that in moments of doubt we can ask ourselves what He would do in our place. By following these keys and trusting in God, we can move forward on our journey toward the Holy Spirit without letting frustration or inordinate desire cloud our quest.
