Being able to get along with our families is a task that demands daily from each and every one of us. Without going any further, we must be very clear that for the Holy Spirit, the family is the most important communion that we have and that we must take care of.
They happen to be our support network and are the loved ones who know us best and who have been with us from the moment the Lord gave us life.
Obviously, each person who makes up our family goes through life in different ways. Therein lies the key to understanding the value of each individual and each member of our environment.
Learning from each one, keeping in mind that each reality is different and that we live according to the will of the Heavenly Father places us in a unique and beautiful destiny.
"I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought." 1 Corinthians 1:10
The key to keeping the family united and in communion is dialogue, communication and respect. We may have differences of thought and perception of life. Families are made up of people who learn, make mistakes and many times recognize their errors through forgiveness.
Harmony and empathy will be fundamental allies so that we can integrate all the loved ones and we should at least try to approach each member from a merciful place, as Jesus did with all his disciples.
We must try to approach and take an interest in the issues and questions that overwhelm those around us. Perhaps we can help them, giving our views and our hand. One never knows if a person needs help, sometimes the Lord wants us to be instruments of healing for those in need.
"But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children’s children— with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts." Psalm 103:17-18
Many times the lack of communication or family disconnection is due to individual routines and daily obligations that make us forget the most important thing: love.
To be able to build a bridge that amalgamates the hearts of these people, will give us a vital force full of hope and faith.
Creating routines of prayer, Bible reading or simply sharing a passage or verse, will give us a unique opportunity, creating a space for dialogue, learning and connection with the Holy Spirit.
"These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up." Deuteronomy 6:6-7
Quality time with your family, dedication to the creation of unique spaces to share and recover those good traditions that allowed us to dialogue without intermediaries with issues that are outside the Faith, this will be one of the fundamental pillars to improve the relationship between the components of the family.
Our Heavenly Father will guide us at all times and wants us to get closer to those people in the family that we must forgive, that we have to recover and link again. What are you waiting for to open your heart with your family?
