In a world that is increasingly materialistic and disconnected from spirituality, it is important to ask ourselves what we really desire and long for in our lives: To be better people? To feel the love of our loved ones?

Often, we focus on superficial goals and achievements, such as owning a house, traveling or having a stable job. But if we stop to think about it, we realize that these goals are a reflection of a world stripped of faith and focused on greed and individualism.

"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?" Luke 6:41

What is the point of pursuing these achievements if only 2% of the world's population can access university studies and only 12% have a stable job? It is at this point that we must stop and rethink our priorities and desires.

We must understand that each person has his or her own unique and unrepeatable experiences, and that happiness cannot be complete if we do not contemplate others in an inclusive whole. We must be self-critical and evaluate our condition as people, and ask ourselves what is the point of nurturing superficial values if we do not have a true faith in life.

In addition, we are often blind to our own needs and those of others. We do not listen to the other when we talk or argue, and we always want to be right and boast of our own knowledge.

But true happiness and fulfillment is found in solidarity and the desire for the well-being of others. In giving opportunities, forgiving and helping each other. That is what it means to commune with Jesus and follow his way of love and peace..

We become the center of our own greed and stop seeing our Creator as our guide to fulfillment.

But can we perceive that there are other realities around us, that each person's inner experiences are unique and unrepeatable, that we can never feel complete if we do not contemplate others in an inclusive way, that we can never feel complete if we do not contemplate others in an inclusive way?

What do we really desire and long for in our lives? To be better people? To feel the love of loved ones?

Instead, we must build bridges that take us from an individual space of peace and love to an immense place, without borders, where the common language is solidarity. We must respect each other and wish well for others. That is what it means to commune hand in hand with Jesus, to give each other opportunities, to forgive each other and to help each other.
