"Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!" Romans 11:33

On life's journey, there are times when we need to connect with something greater than ourselves. In those moments, prayer presents itself as a path to light and healing.

Recognizing that in prayer we can show ourselves in a unique way to the Holy Spirit is something very special. It is an intimate and sacred space where we can fertilize and give form to God's most important virtue: love.

The Lord's goodness is manifested in his unconditional love for us, in his capacity to forgive our offenses and accept us as we are. No matter how many times we have failed him or how far we have strayed from his path, the Heavenly Father always waits for us with open arms and a heart full of kindness.

Through prayer, we can experience and receive that divine goodness within us, healing our emotional and spiritual wounds.

"Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now you will go up to the temple of the Lord." 2 Kings 20:5

In the practice of prayer, perseverance plays a crucial role. Like any virtue, perseverance is achieved by implementing a routine. Creating a personal space of our own to connect with the Lord through daily prayer allows us to cultivate this virtue and strengthen our bond with God. It is in this sacred space where we can find empathy for ourselves and heal our spiritual needs and debts.

The peace and emotional balance we find in prayer give us the capacity to forgive others. We recognize that we are all human beings, with our virtues and faults, and that in the eyes of the Lord, we are equal. Humility becomes an indispensable virtue, since it allows us to open ourselves to others, to learn from them and to understand that we are all in a process of spiritual growth.

"I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power, you have made known to me what we asked of you, you have made known to us the dream of the king." Daniel 2:23

With the Word of God and the universal truth of his teachings, we find the way to the light. Truth frees us from the chains of negative feelings that try to keep us from the way of the Lord.

Through prayer, we can amend our negative thoughts and actions, thus achieving an emotional and spiritual balance never before experienced.

Forgiveness is not a simple task, but it is the first step towards healing the heart. By practicing forgiveness, we set aside resentment and offense, freeing ourselves from the emotional weight we carry within. It is an act of love and humility, which brings us closer to the unconditional love of the Lord.

"Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke them. Then he gave them to the disciples to distribute to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over." Luke 9:16-17

The Lord shows us His most perfect vision, His masterpiece, by telling us to love one another as He loves us. His unconditional love was manifested in the supreme act of giving His own life for us. If we practice prayer daily, we will become a living example of his teachings and love.

We will be able to share this love with those around us: our family, friends, life companions. An embrace and forgiveness can be the first step towards healing the heart and building a more loving and compassionate world.

This space that we manage to generate for our deepening in prayer, gives us the opportunity to connect with God's goodness and forgiveness.

It invites us to cultivate perseverance and humility, and to live in truth. Through prayer, we find the strength to forgive and love others, following the example of Jesus. It is a path of healing and spiritual growth that leads us to be beings of light, reflecting divine love in every step of our lives.
