6 Reasons we choose God's path

What motivates us to follow the path that God set for us? What makes us commit our lives the divine service?

“But Peter said, 'I have no silver or gold, but what I have I give you; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, stand up and walk.' And he took him by the right hand and raised him up; and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. Jumping up, he stood and began to walk, and he entered the temple with them, walking and leaping and praising God.” Acts 3:6-8

Because He is the way. In the same way that He redeemed us from all sin, He started to create the way as He walked it, and that is how we must follow Him. God is the path towards love. God is love.

“Enoch walked with God after the birth of Methuselah three hundred years, and had other sons and daughters. Thus all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty-five years. Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him.” Genesis 5:22-24

Because He is the truth. God represents the idea of all that is good, that is why His word is sage advice, that is why His mouth only utters the truth.

“So now, O Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you? Only to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.” Deuteronomy 10:12

Because He is life. God is the undisputed creator of all that surrounds us, of life itself. God raises the dead and cures the lepers because He is the life.

“Many peoples shall come and say,'Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; that he may teach us his ways and that we may walk in his paths.' For out of Zion shall go forth instruction and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.” Isaiah 2:3

Because we grow daily. Following Christ's lessons we see an exceptional spiritual growth, which, based on our love for our neighbors, will lift us up as people and God's children.

“Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in my ways and keep my requirements, then you shall rule my house and have charge of my courts, and I will give you the right of access among those who are standing here.” Zechariah 3:7

Because we want to live in the love. Because that was the first law and the most beautiful of all, the law that without love there is nothing, and furthermore, if I do not love my neighbor as myself then the rest also does not exist. We want that for our lives, that is why we choose God's path

“You were dead through the trespasses and sins in which you once lived, following the course of this world, following the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work among those who are disobedient.” Ephesians 2:1-2

Because we learn to forgive. Christ taught us to grant forgiveness in our hearts to those who offend us, because love can do all things, and because Christ always shows us a way and gives a second chance to all. Therefore, why not follow His example?
