5 tips to recovering family time

¿Do you feel that your family is far away from the path of the Lord? Discover these tips that give a new meaning to the word family in these troubled times.

“And these words which I command you this day shall be upon your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7

Setup readings of the Holy Bible in which all the members of the family participate: Creating a favourable environment is something that is fundamental, so maybe you can start with a prayer of thanks.

Another good option is to follow a plan of action: Read the passage, talk about what was read and then put it into action.

“ I appeal to you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no dissensions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.

1 Corinthians 1:10

Work hard on communication: If communication flows easily tgen there will be room for harmony.

Try to be interested in each member of the family by asking them every day about how their day was and how they feel. This will allow you to generate empathy that will result in a better understanding of the problems of others, problems that you can also help solve.

“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, yet I will not forget you. Behold, I have graven you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.” Isaiah 49:15-16

Commit yourself to prayer: Make a family prayer session in which everyone participates, where different members of the family can pray for those who need it and don't forget to include acknowledgments.

In this way you will be able to see how a climate of meditation and peace will begin to rule and everyone will want to maintain it.

“But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments.”   Psalms 103:17-18

Encourage your family to spend some time every day setting aside their mobile devices and focusing on the reality of their family. You can use the aforementioned mentioned tips in order to better make that request.

It is important, in this and in all cases, that you take the initiative and in that way teach by example.

“ If any one says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.”

1 John 4:20
