No matter if we are in a time of abundance or if we are in a time of hardship, we must all be predisposed to experience the joy of living with generosity. There are many and varied ways we can find to honor the glory of God and probably one of the most important is the act of Forgiveness.
When we forgive from the heart, we put into practice fundamental values such as Compassion, Humility, Wisdom, and Reparation. How sad it is not to be able to forgive or not to be forgiven! How harmful the feelings that lack of Mercy produces in our souls!
Not being able to face and overcome the faults or offenses that others may have had with us, generates within us feelings that take us away from the Peace of Christ. In the presence of a grievance, what the Word of the Lord indicates is not to hide but, on the contrary, to show oneself and to put everything on our side to solve the conflict and restore His Peace.
“You, Lord, are forgiving and good, abounding in love to all who call to you.” Psalms 86:5
It is important to recognize that Forgiveness is a sweet Blessing, but what is Forgiveness and what does it imply?
We could say that it implies eradicating and dismissing any feeling of revenge. We must always keep in mind the Word of the Almighty and under no circumstances pay evil with evil, wishing good to those who have offended or harmed us, praying for their welfare, and seeking reconciliation constantly.
Forgiveness requires a high degree of courage and bravery as it involves challenges that God wants us to deal with in order to achieve our Transformation in His Peace and in His Glory. Let us imitate our Lord and be sincere in pardoning our brothers. In the same way, we must develop a true gift of repentance when it comes to being forgiven for our failures. Let us remember that He does much more than forgive. He Heals and Cleanses.
“And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.” Mark 11:25
The Perfect Word of the Highest is clear when it places Forgiveness as the Pillar, Guide, and way to receive His Glory in Jesus. To forgive is to assume the protection that The Eternal pours over our existence every day so that there are no barriers between Him and us.
The anger and rancor caused by resentments for the offenses received end up being a prison, a vicious circle from which we cannot get rid. How many times has anger become a recurring thought that we return to again and again? To forgive, then, is also to free oneself from the bonds of anguish, to let go of burdens that we often inflict on ourselves and, above all, it allows us to look to the future free and without ties, in accordance with God and drawing closer to the person He has called us to be.
“He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 John 2:2
Let us put aside the feelings of anger and resentment and let gestures of reconciliation become present to heal the wounds in our hearts and those of our brothers.
Let's be receptive to receive and accept and give repentance and Forgiveness.
As we walk with God we commit ourselves to a transformative experience. When we forgive we draw near to the Lord's call. Forgiveness is a liberating act, that allows us to look to the future without anger or resentment and allows us to live in the peace of Christ.
