4 Reflections About The Importance of Prayer in our Lives

Many times, as a result of the multiple obligations that our daily life has in store for us, we have a certain predisposition to leave our encounter with God for later. There are so many activities that keep us busy that we end the day exhausted and we feel that we lack the strength and we cannot do anything else.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Talking to God should be a primary action in our lives and the more time we devote to prayer and the Word of the Lord the closer we will come to His Grace and Mercy.

We must begin by understanding that the act of Prayer is time earned. When we communicate sincerely, authentically, and periodically with our Heavenly Father, our burdens are lightened, we better order the activities of the next day, we achieve the invasion of Peace of Spirit and our rest is repairing.

The Goodness of Almighty God becomes palpable when we persist in Prayer because that perseverance makes us Grow in Faith and Character. In turn, we can see how our needs come into concordance with the will and purpose that the Lord has designated for our lives .

“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” Romans 12:12

Another thing, very important, to keep in mind is that we must change the way we often look at the act of praying. It generates in us the false perception that we should resort to Prayer as a last resort or in the extreme moments when we feel that the situation is out of our hands.

The Word of God teaches us that Prayer should be a habit to be watered every day. It is also fundamental to know that it is never too late to change and incorporate into our routine fluid and periodic dialogue with the Almighty. Many of us find it difficult to assume this constancy and it ends up being a challenge.

When we understand the importance of the act of prayer, for the children of God and the transformative power it has, we must put our hands to work and change our attitude to approach the Lord with the Gift of Humility and Gratitude .

“And if we know that he hears us whatever we ask we know that we have what we asked of him.” 1 John 5:15

The Lord is the one who knows the best way for us and within that way is to strengthen our relationship with Him every day through strong and persevering prayer. Fluidity in our dialogue with God brings us Wisdom, Maturity, and Peace of Spirit.

In the same way, we must understand that our Heavenly Father is unable to be unjust to our requests and demands, but that His times are perfect and are not the same as we humans can understand. The Eternal will always give us the best answer in His purpose .

“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” John 14:13

The Lord is our best confidant and will always be there to listen and help us no matter what the circumstances.

He will never betray us and His advice will be a Blessing. Christ loves us and offers us His Forgiveness. What a wonderful privilege to be able to have a personal relationship with the Creator. Through Prayer we come closer to God in a unique and authentic way, praying for ourselves and for others, letting our burdens rest on Him, acquiring the Peace and Rest so necessary to fully enjoy life.
