4 Reasons to Understand that We are not Alone

Let us always remember the Blessing of having assured the presence of the Lord in our lives. He will never abandon us. As members of the People of God we have the certainty in our hearts that we are never alone.

Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from my anguish. Look on my affliction and my distress and take away all my sins. Psalm 25: 16-18

Do you have a feeling of emptiness? Do you feel apart or excluded? When we perceive reality with this rod, it means that we are having the perception of walking the path in complete solitude. In times of plagues, it is very common to fall into these types of afflictions that only darken our spirits, closing an emotional circle that begins and ends in us. That is why we must immediately remove that thought, since, in addition to being deceptive, it puts us at the mercy of negative situations such as depression, sadness, and hopelessness. Let us keep in mind that our Lord is God of relationship and community and for that same reason He designed us with the same nature.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;  your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Psalm 23:4

One of the segments of the population most affected by confinement is our older adults. To its extreme vulnerability to the pandemic, another problem of the same dimension is added: the lack of close contact with family and friends. Grandparents miss their grandchildren, children, and neighbors. They miss congregating in their church and are distressed that they cannot perform such simple acts as going for a walk or shopping. This reality that is imposed on them makes them feel alone and helpless. Feeling like this, from time to time, is absolutely normal, but the consecutive prolongation of the isolation produces fatigue and sadness, affecting their daily life.

Let's call our older adults, whether they are family members or neighbors. Let's hear what they have to tell us from the Gift of Humility and Patience. Let us pray with them through the means available to us and let them know that we are always by their side .

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

There are signs that we are feeling lonely. We experience great tiredness but we cannot fall asleep, we have a sudden desire to cry and be hugged.

The instance of quarantine is a good opportunity to realize that we are called by Him to connect people with His Word and His Glory. God gives us the necessary tools to be creative in adverse times. Let us use the Wisdom that the Holy Scriptures give us to fulfill the purpose of Christ on earth.

Living committed to our calling will help us overcome the feeling of loneliness

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1

In times when we feel alone, let us remember that we are children of God, that we always move forward with Him on the saved path, that we are blessed by His Mercy and that His presence is permanent in our hearts. Do you still feel lonely In the Lord everything is possible? He will never abandon us.
